Biography

Jason Vitorillo has worked in the arts as an actor, choreographer, and technical director for Tanghalang Ateneo from 1998 to 2013. He was also the company's theatre manager from 2001 to 2002. As an arts manager, he has worked on various projects with the Oro Arts Guild, Planting Rice, VIVA ExCon Bacolod, and the Museum of Contemporary Arts and Design in the Philippines. He also managed the 2010 Sitelines Festival in New York for the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.  

He has been in the academe for over ten years and was previously the Lecturer-in-Charge of the BA(Hons) Arts Management Programme of LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. He was a lecturer in the Department of Fine Arts of Ateneo de Manila University and an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Arts Management Program of the School of Design and Arts, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in Manila, before moving to Singapore in 2015.

He holds an MA in Arts Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University, in New York. He is a recipient of the International Fellowships Program of Ford Foundation in 2009. 

Through his research work on arts management education, cultural policy, and cultural governance, he is a frequent speaker and has worked with institutions such as the National Taiwan University of the Arts, Queen's University Belfast, University of the Philippines Diliman, HUMAK University of Applied Sciences, and the Brokering Intercultural Exchange Network.
