An introduction to emerging tech and NFTs

Synopsis: The seminar opens the Series: Deep Dive into Emerging Techan with a focused introduction of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) through understanding the blockchain technology that underlies it. It explains the mechanics including the use of Smart Contracts as well as the ideology of this emerging but dominant technology. This session is useful for those who are keen to learn about the history of crypto art, the utility and future of NFTs and the various impacts of the technology for the wider creative economy.

Speaker: Jonathan Liu is a Visual Artist & Educator working with photography within his practice. He is also a founding member of NFT Asia - an artist-led non-profit digital collective aimed at uplifting Asian and Asia-based artists. He graduated from London College of Communication with a BA in Photography and currently lectures at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore.
